Our Story

Made for the woman
biology forgot to warn.

Sella was born in 2021 from a simple frustration: every skincare brand on the market treated hormonal changes like a footnote. For millions of women entering perimenopause, those changes weren't a footnote — they were everything.

Dr. Claire Hartwell, a biochemist based in Portland, Oregon, spent 15 years studying collagen synthesis and hormonal tissue response. When perimenopause changed her own skin overnight, she couldn't find a single product built around the science she already knew. So she built it herself.

After 40+ formulation iterations and a 12-week trial with 43 women aged 42 to 58, Sella's collagen eye patches became something rare in the beauty industry: a product that actually addresses the cause — not just the symptom.

Our Mission

Give back what
perimenopause takes.

We exist to fill a gap the beauty industry has ignored for decades. When estrogen drops, collagen production slows — and no regular eye cream was designed for that. Sella was. Our mission is simple: give every woman in perimenopause a product that was actually made for her biology.

No hormones. No false promises. Just honest science, transparent ingredients, and results that speak for themselves.

Women 40–55 noticing changes around their eyes they can't explain
Women in perimenopause or early menopause dealing with puffiness, hollowness, or dark circles
Women who've tried everything and want something built for their specific biology
Women who deserve a brand that finally takes their skin seriously
